Flat Sheet vs MDF

The benefits of 1mm

Ideal for new freshly plastered walls where you may be simply painting around the splashback and want it flush to the wall.

1mm thickness is ideal for this application and is light and easy to install with a strong adhesive.

The benefits of MDF backed

Ideal if you want a heavier splashback in looks as they are 10mm thickness and the steel is wrapped around all sides of the MDF backing.

Ideal also if you wish to tile up to the splashback or you have a small upstand around the worktop, as this thickness would suit more flush in appearance.
